Modern laser technology now allows the safe and effective removal of small spider like veins on the face and nose called telangiectasia. These tiny broken veins may be part of the normal ageing process, sun induced, hereditary or as part of the skin condition known as rosacea. In rosacea the skin of the cheeks and nose tends to flush easily and eventually turn permanently red and may be associated with pimple spots in addition to the thread veins. Laser treatment can be highly effective in reducing the redness and removing the spider veins with minimal discomfort. Usually 2 or 3 treatments are needed and during your consultation our doctor will be able to design a treatment plan, which is specific to your individual skin condition. General advice will also be given on how to protect your skin in order to reduce the risk of the development of further spider veins.
