The Journey Home and
The Linden House

An invitation for each of us on our Journey to the Heart.
The Journey Home was painted specifically for the fundraiser for The Linden House, a permanent housing facility for the homeless funded by Fort Collins Housing Authority. Katherine learned of the Linden House and the permanent housing program for the homeless when asked if she would donate a piece of artwork for their first annual fundraiser. Katherine created her painting, The Journey Home, and donated a print of it to the cause. In the process Katherine was inspired to create gallery posters and limited edition prints from her painting, in an effort to raise more money for the facility, to offset the deficit of its budget. She knew that if only 1,000 posters could sell, it would end the budget deficit, as well as raise awareness of the permanent housing program for the homeless in Fort Collins. 40% of the profits from all posters are donated to The Linden House and the Fort Collins Housing Authority.
My inspiration came as I pondered the thought of what it is to be a part of the community of mankind—not just my local community—and of our responsibility to one another on our journey.
The message was clear as I sketched. Respect, New Beginnings, Commitment, Safety, Compassion, Support, Love, Faith, Hope, Trust, Commitment to Humanity, Heart, Healing, Honor, Fellowship … and a path to the Divine Heart of Humanity. There is an invitation for each of us to walk this path, as well as to support others for the greater good.
